ABOUT THE POSITION

The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the upkeep and repair of all machinery and facilities within the plant. This role encompasses repair tasks, welding, routine maintenance checks, and the installation of equipment. A solid mechanical understanding is crucial for excelling in this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols specific to the plant environment.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Oversee all mechanical maintenance operations and perform regular preventative maintenance evaluations.
  • Repair and Construction: Execute repairs and construct components as per work directives, ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of repair tasks, tool utilization, and maintenance records.
  • Reporting: Deliver comprehensive weekly updates to the Planner regarding equipment repairs and necessary enhancements.
  • Problem Solving and Tool Expertise: Exhibit proficient troubleshooting abilities and safe operation of tools and machinery.
  • Equipment Servicing: Conduct repairs on various equipment types, including conveyors, mills, and material handling systems.
  • Hydraulic Systems and Alignment: Have a basic understanding of hydraulic systems, interpret schematics, and ensure correct alignment of couplings.
  • Autonomous Work: Operate independently without direct oversight, including responding to urgent maintenance calls as required.
  • SAP Utilization: Generate notifications and work orders using the SAP system.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; completion of a vocational program or relevant training is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior industrial maintenance experience is essential; familiarity with cement production processes and associated machinery is advantageous.
  • Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills are required.
  • Work Ethic: Exhibit strong professional standards and maintain a commendable attendance record.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Possess effective troubleshooting capabilities.

  • Candidates must comply with all safety regulations and properly utilize Holcim-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators. In accordance with applicable laws, employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal contacts the face to successfully pass fit tests.
