Job Summary

The primary objective of this role is to achieve exceptional results in contact and collection efforts, as well as marketing initiatives. This involves persuading customers to visit the office or contact the office via telephone. The Associate Manager is qualified to perform all branch manager duties and supervise employees in the manager's absence.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

The Associate Manager position is designed to prepare for management roles. The company views all associate managers as potential branch managers. Associate Managers who are considered for promotion are those who excel in their own role and demonstrate a thorough understanding of CSR and Manager positions.

The Associate Manager's primary duty will be to complete delinquent telephone work as directed by the manager. This role requires a high level of initiative, as much of the work is done without direct supervision. A valid driver's license and access to a reliable automobile with liability insurance are essential.

Other Functions and Responsibilities
  1. Makes telephone collection calls to delinquent customers and reports activities to the branch manager.
  2. Adjusts past-due payments for current slow customers.
  3. Makes written descriptions and appraises the value of security and other collateral at customer residences. Provides written comments on the condition of collateral and makes recommendations to the branch manager for loan amounts and terms.
  4. Assists in answering telephone calls, posting customer payments, inputting new and refinanced loans into the loan software system, processing loan applications, and preparing refinance and delinquency mail.
  5. Assists the manager in setting up, planning, and delegating field visit activities with assistant managers. Reviews and documents all field work completed by assistant managers.
  6. Performs field visits when necessary.
  7. Conducts training development exercises as directed by the manager and district supervisor.
  8. Prepares weekly and monthly reports.
  9. Maintains daily tabulation of delinquency reports generated by the computer.
  10. Provides customers' credit experiences to inquiring creditors.
  11. Assists in maintaining standards in all areas of delinquency, loan volume, and growth goals, including the 10th/20th standards.
  12. Branch personnel are responsible for consistently achieving company production standards, which may require some late nights until 8:00 PM and Saturday work as directed by the district supervisor.
Qualifications

Previous experience in collections or the finance industry is a plus. The Associate Manager must have knowledge of and successful use of computer skills. Willingness to travel and relocate is essential. The Associate Manager must be willing to take on the role of the next available manager's position in any location that an opening arises.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
