POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is essential in delivering exceptional customer support to all patients, ensuring they receive relevant, timely, and precise information regarding the various services offered, including medical access, financial assistance, social services, and additional programs available at SISKIYOU COMMUNITY HEALTH CTR.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responds to phone inquiries in a polite and professional manner.
Welcomes patients with courtesy and professionalism.
Aims to identify the most suitable solutions for patients' needs.
Provides coverage for 'check out' processes for the healthcare providers in the assigned department, which may involve scheduling follow-up appointments, lab tests, and external diagnostic procedures.
Informs patients about clinic policies and addresses questions as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
Experience with medical office software and familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
Basic understanding of Medicare and the Oregon Health Plan is advantageous.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service abilities.
Fundamental mathematical skills.
Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Preferred bilingual skills in Spanish, both oral and written.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift, bend, reach, push, carry, sit, and drive a vehicle. Vision and hearing must be corrected to within normal limits. Physical mobility within the clinic environment.

POTENTIAL HAZARDS:
Possible exposure to airborne pathogens. Regular contact with patients.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Primarily office-based. Reports directly to the Dental Clinic Manager.

EQUIPMENT USED:
Computer, printer, calculator, fax machine, copier, multi-line phone system, and/or personal vehicle.
