Job Summary

The Calfee Community and Cultural Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our Harmon Learning Center team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for young children to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Management: Ensure the safety and security of children at all times, maintaining a positive and organized classroom climate.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Lead Teacher and teaching team to develop and implement curriculum, engage in quality communication with families, and promote a culture of mutual respect and trust.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education, staying up-to-date with best practices and research-based methods.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties, such as maintaining accurate records, preparing materials, and supporting the daily operations of the classroom.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Previous experience in early childhood education, with a strong understanding of child development and learning theories.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in using educational software and technology.
  • Certifications and Training: Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification, with a willingness to obtain any additional certifications required by the state or center.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift at least 35lbs, and work at the child's level.
