Position SummaryAs a Recovery Navigator with Recovery Corps, you will play a crucial role in addressing the challenges of substance use disorders and empowering individuals to build healthier lives. This role requires a strong passion for making a difference and a commitment to serving recovery communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with others to maintain their progress in recovery.
- Provide mentoring and peer support to individuals in recovery.
- Assist clients in navigating social service resources and programs.
- Participate in training and professional development throughout the year, including the Peer Recovery Support training.
- Foster strong relationships with clients to help build their confidence and skills while also encouraging them to have agency over their own recovery.
- Gain valuable professional experience while embedded in a local recovery organization.
- Share your experience with the wider community as a Recovery Corps ambassador.
Requirements
- Be in recovery for at least one uninterrupted year from a substance use disorder.
- Be dependable and have a history of good attendance.
- Be able to understand and follow instructions.
- Be able to set a pace and maintain a service schedule, depending on the agreed upon hours commitment.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet searches, data entry, email communication (with attachments), databases and software use, and videoconferencing.
- Be fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
- Be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
- Be able to successfully complete a background check.
