Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Estimator

  • Oversee the bidding process for all project scopes.
  • Monitor bidding schedules from initial proposal to contract award.
  • Identify and pursue new bidding opportunities as necessary.
  • Examine and interpret plans and documents to generate accurate cost estimates for bids.
  • Represent the company at bidding events when required.
  • Review and analyze construction contracts.
  • Conduct cost comparisons with previous bids of similar nature.
  • Visit potential job sites to accurately assess the scope of work when needed.
  • Prepare project submittals.
  • Effectively manage multiple bids simultaneously.

Qualifications for the Electrical Estimator

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an electrical estimating role with an electrical contractor.
  • Experience in estimating medium voltage projects.
  • Proficiency in Accubid- LiveCount software.
  • Project experience in commercial, institutional, healthcare, airports, fire alarm, and security systems.
  • Solid understanding of electrical installation, estimating methodologies, and cost management.
  • Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Stable work history is essential.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to various branches as required.
  • Must possess authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman License or relevant Degree
