Position Overview: Ship Repair Project Manager

We are in search of a dedicated Ship Repair Project Manager who will be responsible for managing and coordinating all facets of ship repair initiatives. This role demands a meticulous professional with robust project management capabilities, comprehensive knowledge of ship repair methodologies, and the capacity to effectively lead interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Formulate detailed project plans encompassing scope, timelines, budgets, and resource needs for ship repair assignments.
    • Collaborate with various departments to ensure cohesive and efficient project execution.
    • Establish project milestones, deliverables, and schedules, overseeing the project lifecycle from inception to completion.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Develop and oversee project budgets, accounting for labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
    • Track project spending, manage costs, and ensure projects adhere to financial parameters.
    • Supervise the procurement and distribution of resources and materials necessary for repair projects.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Inspire and guide project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
    • Promote effective communication and teamwork among project members and stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Guarantee that all repair operations meet industry standards, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
    • Implement and manage quality control protocols to uphold exceptional workmanship and safety standards.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as the primary liaison for clients and stakeholders throughout the project duration.
    • Prepare and deliver project status updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks associated with projects and devise strategies for mitigation.
    • Address and resolve any challenges that arise during the project to minimize disruptions.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain thorough and accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.

Position Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in marine design, engineering, and manufacturing methods relevant to marine new construction and service work.
  • Familiarity with ship construction, repair, and conversion, including various vessel types, systems, and components.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution and guiding stakeholders towards realistic consensus while maintaining essential relationships.
  • Solid understanding of current regulations and best practices from regulatory bodies, including USCG and classification societies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Project.

Compensation: Salary range from $110,000 to $135,000 annually.
