Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Southwest Medical Imaging. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of radiography examinations, evaluating images for technical quality, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal views of specified body areas, as requested by physicians.
  • Explain procedures to patients, reducing anxieties and promoting cooperation.
  • Operate imaging equipment, determining exposure factors based on patient height, weight, and body area, and adjusting controls to produce high-quality images.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including Bone Density scans when required.
  • Assist radiologists in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations, and prepare images for reading.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Certifications: MRTBE (CRT), ARRT (R), and CPR.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop for extended periods, with frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
