Pharmacist in Charge Job Description

PharMerica is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacist in Charge to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, directing pharmacy staff on scheduling, purchasing, and clinical matters, and collaborating with pharmacy and regional staff to provide clinical and technical support.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure pharmacy compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
  • Direct pharmacy staff on scheduling, purchasing, and clinical matters
  • Collaborate with pharmacy and regional staff to provide clinical and technical support
  • Respond to pharmaceutical inquiries from customers and pharmacy staff
  • Maintain patient database and document all communication with physicians, nurses, and other team members
  • Implement policies and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, distribution, and use of drugs and biologicals

Requirements:

  • Current license in the state of practice
  • Pharmacy experience, preferably in long-term care pharmacy
  • Knowledge of pharmacy laws and federal and state regulations concerning long-term care and pharmaceutical care practices for long-term care residents
  • Ability to use a computer and maintain accurate records
