Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Develop and implement a diversified activities program that meets the needs and interests of our residents, including planning, coordinating, and evaluating programs within budgetary guidelines.
  • Staff Management: Ensure appropriate staffing by conducting interviews and hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising employees. Prepare employee performance evaluations and initiate promotion, transfer, and termination.
  • Resident Engagement: Oversees and directs resident activities and schedules, ensuring that residents have opportunities for socialization, recreation, and personal growth.
  • Policy and Procedure: Develop and revise department policies and procedures, maintaining current knowledge of facility policies and procedures and operating the Activities Program in compliance with all regulatory and accrediting standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation (CTRS) preferred or ADC and 90-hour basic education course.
  • Experience: Two years of experience in social or recreational programs within the past five years, preferably in long-term care.
