Primary Responsibilities

The Machinist will operate a variety of machines to work with diverse materials. Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting machine parameters for optimal performance.
  • Calculating precise cutting or boring locations.
  • Shaping materials such as steel, aluminum, and plastics.
  • Controlling the feed rate and speed of workpieces.
  • Selecting appropriate tools and materials for each task.
  • Planning the sequence of machining operations.
  • Positioning workpieces accurately on machinery.
  • Monitoring and adjusting machine settings for quality assurance.
  • Ensuring proper lubrication and cooling of workpieces.
  • Identifying and resolving operational issues through sound detection.
  • Maintaining safety standards and compliance with regulations.
  • Documenting production activities and communicating with team members.
  • Contributing to organizational goals by embracing new challenges.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; certification in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent experience preferred.
