Primary Responsibilities

The Machinist will be responsible for operating various machines to work with a range of materials. Key duties include:

  • Setting machine parameters and determining cutting specifications.
  • Calculating precise cutting or boring locations.
  • Shaping materials such as steel, aluminum, and plastics.
  • Adjusting feed rates and speeds for optimal performance.
  • Selecting appropriate tools and materials for tasks.
  • Planning the sequence of machining operations.
  • Positioning workpieces accurately on machinery.
  • Monitoring and controlling operational parameters.
  • Ensuring proper lubrication and cooling of workpieces.
  • Identifying and resolving operational issues through sound detection.
  • Maintaining safe working conditions by adhering to safety protocols.
  • Documenting production activities and communicating with team members.
  • Contributing to organizational goals by embracing new challenges.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; certification in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, which may include standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include the ability to see close details.
