Job Description

Job Summary:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead a team of production control professionals in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a Director of Production Control Operations, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to a team of approximately 200 production control personnel across the Palmdale site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide local leadership and direction to production control personnel to ensure the successful execution of production control operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve production control processes and procedures, resulting in increased efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with government directors, VP's, program managers, directors, and customers to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Manage the overall production control portfolio for all ADP site programs in Palmdale, including planning, execution strategy, and management support.
  • Monitor performance to plan, including on-time releases, starts, and completions, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of recovery schedules, ensuring timely and effective resolution of production control issues.
  • Ensure maintenance and reporting of schedules, management of MRP/SAP planning, shop floor control, constraint management, and establishment of priorities for engineering, supply chain, etc., to support build teams.
  • Perform the role of fabrication integrator across the Palmdale site, Aeronautics, and other LM business units to drive collaboration and performance for customers.

What You'll Need:

  • Proven experience in complex production or related environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a strong presence, communication, and ability to address complex matters/solutions with senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage, coach, train, and motivate teams in technical and leadership development.
  • Experience with production/control processes and procedures, cost, schedule, and technical data, inventory management, and SAP in fabrication and assembly environments.
  • Demonstrated success in manufacturing execution in difficult environments, including managing in a union shop, increasing volumes, significant labor increases, inconsistent material supply, producibility, and quality challenges.
  • Demonstrated technical and strategic leadership abilities.
