Job Summary

Aurora is a design system that serves as the foundation for Novant Health's digital transformation. As the Lead Front End Developer, you will be part of a team that builds a framework-agnostic component library used by internal and external delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Build and maintain documentation and training to enable designers and developers to effectively use the design system.
  • Provide technical thought leadership and contribute to the next iterations of the design system based on evolving enterprise needs and trends in technology.
  • Drive the implementation of the visual language in coordination with the design and development leaders.
  • Work with the design team to improve usability and ensure high-quality standards and brand consistency.
  • Build framework-agnostic components that can be delivered to products across the product catalogue.
  • Create the best possible user experiences across the product catalog.
  • Work collaboratively and communicate with the Aurora team and partners.
  • Build and maintain web applications.
  • Work closely with the UI/UX design team as well as the development team.
  • Build consistent and reliable web experiences.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in development.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Must be flexible to new situations and challenges.
  • Software engineering.
  • Understanding of software design patterns and implementations of those patterns in JavaScript.
  • Understanding of the MVC/MVVM software patterns.
  • Familiar with a CMS and building component systems for them.
  • Familiar with the Microsoft stack.
  • Familiar with Visual Studio and working with Visual Studio tools including builds, local deployments, and the IIS web stack.
  • Familiar with ASP.NET MVC and Razor views.
  • Familiar with a distributed source control system such as GIT.
  • Knowledge of modern UI frameworks React/Vue/Angular/Web Components.
  • Knowledge of the entire web development process and possess the ability to implement and execute standard software architecture patterns.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and are analytical.
  • Be curious about new technologies and driven to find ways to implement them in your work.
  • Provide best fits architectural solutions to provide for the business needs.
  • Responsible for defining and the scope or work.
  • Contribute to a variety of roles in thought leadership, mentorship, architecture, design, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Ensure deliverables are of the highest quality to promote product owners' satisfaction.
  • Independently manage tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively with various teams in pursuit of problem solutions.
  • Strong presentation skills desired with the ability to explain technical considerations, trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Either have experience with or willingness to learn Microsoft technology stack.
