Job Summary

Burgess Norton Mfg Co is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for performing mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with plant equipment
  • Determine the most effective course of action to repair or replace machine parts
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment downtime
  • Prepare and submit requisitions for spare and repair parts
  • Collaborate with outside contractors to complete project work
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs
  • Assist and advise engineering and other support groups as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and paperwork
  • Train and assist operators as required
  • Perform periodic maintenance on machines as needed
  • Participate in team problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Use various testing devices and chemicals according to guidelines and procedures
  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, according to guidelines and procedures
  • Understand and perform work functions related to environmental aspects
  • Follow all safety rules and maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required by safety policy
  • Be responsible and accountable for professional use of work periods, machinery, equipment, and tools
  • Understand and perform to the company's quality policy
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance function
  • Electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic analysis and repair skills
  • Forklift operation skills
