Position Overview

The Applied Electromagnetics Division at Applied Research Associates is in search of a highly skilled Mechanical Materials & Process Engineer. This role presents a remarkable opportunity to leverage extensive design and manufacturing knowledge to tackle complex challenges related to RF hardware, including antennas and associated support systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop interfaces, enclosures, and structures to effectively integrate and support electrical and mechanical components.
  • Establish and refine manufacturing processes to ensure the production of consistent, high-quality components.
  • Advise on materials selection and integration strategies to guarantee the creation of durable hardware that withstands rigorous environmental conditions.

Compensation: Salary range is $95,000 - $120,000, commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of materials and processes necessary to achieve MIL-STD quality standards.
  • Innovative mechanical designer with comprehensive product lifecycle experience.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to communicate effectively with fabrication teams.
  • A four-year degree in mechanical, materials, or manufacturing engineering is required.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a DoD secret level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 15 years of experience in the aerospace and defense sector, with a proven track record of successful product deployments.
  • Experience with RF hardware, including antennas and circuits.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline is advantageous.
  • Practical skills in machining, metalworking, and other fabrication techniques are preferred.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems is a plus.
