The Sr. Systems Administrator will oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of Virtual's IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security. Key responsibilities include managing IT projects, collaborating with vendors, and providing end-user support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network devices, and virtualization technologies.
  • Manage IT projects and communicate status updates effectively.
  • Prepare documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgraded IT infrastructure.
  • Install and configure hardware and software components to ensure smooth operation in a high-availability environment.
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and develop solutions to optimize system performance.
  • Ensure the security and protection of Virtual's IT infrastructure from unauthorized access or data breaches.
  • Manage backup and recovery systems to ensure business continuity and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve technical issues and provide end-user support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years (10 years plus preferred) of experience in IT systems administration or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments, including experience with virtualization technologies (VMware preferred).
  • Ability to build Linux and Windows Servers.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure, etc.).
  • Understanding of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
  • Experience with backup and recovery technologies (Rubrik experience would be a plus).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to identify solutions to complex technical issues.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), are a plus.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
