Position Overview

A prominent leader in the manufacturing sector is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to oversee IT operations at our facilities. This role requires a dedicated on-site presence to ensure the seamless functioning of our IT infrastructure that supports manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage both physical and virtual server environments, focusing on Windows servers operating within a VMWare framework.
  • Oversee Active Directory domains and implement backup and recovery strategies tailored for manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security team to safeguard the operational environment against potential threats and data loss.
  • Administer Thin Manager and Thin Client Systems, along with physical operator stations and standalone PCs.
  • Work in close partnership with engineering and electrical teams to facilitate necessary adjustments while adhering to established change management protocols.
  • Engage with external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as required.
  • Coordinate with the IT Infrastructure team to define network specifications and assist the Service Desk in addressing network and systems-related challenges.
  • Provide mentorship and training to IT colleagues in systems administration and troubleshooting, ensuring knowledge transfer across infrastructure technologies.
  • Drive organizational objectives and seek opportunities for continuous enhancement of the Operational Technology landscape.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 4-7 years of IT experience within an Industrial Manufacturing setting is essential.
  • Proficiency in Service Desk level 2-3 operations.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, including root cause analysis.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Possess a systems-thinking mindset, linking individual contributions to broader company objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a zero-incident safety culture and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Nexus switches, Siemens Industrial network equipment, VSAN, VMWare 7, Veeam, and Fortigate firewalls is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time, if necessary.
