Mechanical Engineer IV

This position provides manufacturing engineering ownership of solar power module assembly for the project Kuiper satellite program. You will be a key part of bringing the new solar power module assembly line online and commissioned. Critical to this work is robust documentation of processes, the ability to design, procure, and test tooling and shop aids, perform testing of the equipment, and gather data to prove reliability and repeatability of the systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for solar power module assembly
- Develop and implement tooling and shop aids to support manufacturing
- Test and validate equipment and processes
- Gather and analyze data to prove reliability and repeatability of systems
Requirements
- BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent
- Knowledge of MCAD software, 3D modeling, and 2D drafting
- Experience designing mechanical assemblies for electronics
- Experience with rapid prototype tooling
- Experience with production tooling
- Experience in project management
Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position in Redmond, Washington. Onsite in Redmond. Daily schedule: Support to bring the new solar power module (SPM) line to an operational state at an accelerated rate.
