Piedmont Urgent Care by Wellstreet is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Representative/Unit Secretary to join our team. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities- Greet patients and visitors in a professional manner, providing clear instructions and assistance as needed.
- Analyze health insurance benefits, verify eligibility, and communicate payment policies and billing procedures.
- Maintain the reception area, ensuring it remains clean, organized, and welcoming to patients.
- Perform various clerical tasks, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Determine and collect patient financial responsibilities, providing accurate information and support as required.
- Collaborate with the practice manager and other staff members to ensure seamless operations.
- Provide overall support for physicians and office activities, including documentation and record-keeping.
- Obtain and document patient history, understanding standard healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Collect and maintain patient and business documents, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent; one year of experience in a medical office or emergency room setting preferred.
- Ability to work 8am to 8pm, rotating weekends and holidays, with occasional travel to nearby Piedmont Urgent Care locations.
- Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination; certification and experience as a medical assistant a plus.
**Estimated Salary:** $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, depending on experience and location.
