Laying House Caretaker

Cobb-Vantress is seeking a skilled Laying House Caretaker to join our team. As a key member of our agricultural operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our poultry flock.
Key Responsibilities- Attend to and care for hens by ensuring adequate feed, water, and ventilation.
- Inspect eggs to ascertain quality and fitness for incubation.
- Maintain biosecurity and animal welfare for the assigned house.
- Perform routine housekeeping duties, including cleaning and disinfecting waterers, changing and cleaning nest pads, and dusting nests.
- Record information according to instructions, including egg numbers, bird weight, medications, feed intake, mortality, and production percentage.
- Collect and handle eggs by observing, grading, cleaning, and recording egg quality.
- Inspect poultry for diseases and remove weak, ill, and dead poultry from the flock.
- Properly euthanize weak or ill birds in accordance with company policy.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in agricultural or production settings preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 58 pounds and stand for long periods.
