Role Overview:
The Manufacturing Technology Engineer is tasked with spearheading the continuous improvement initiatives at the unit level, ensuring alignment with business strategies while enhancing environmental health and safety (EH&S) performance and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish strong relationships with the operations team, leveraging their expertise in process technology and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing with technology experts across various departments to uncover potential enhancement opportunities.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Technology Implementation Specialists to execute projects that yield positive returns on capital and support EH&S goals.
- Ensure successful implementation of Business Technology Implementation Plan projects, validating that performance meets or exceeds expectations.
- Work closely with plant operations and maintenance teams to identify performance indicators that highlight technology gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to root cause failure analysis as a team member or facilitator for incidents related to process technology.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the Business Technology Implementation Plan, including project management for smaller projects.
- Champion the identification of potential solutions for unplanned events, ensuring they are documented in the appropriate prioritization system.
- Act as the local point of contact for technology implementation and Process Safety Management follow-up, accountable for delivering improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
- 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing or a related field is essential.
- Experience in the relevant line of business is preferred.
