Job SummaryIndustrial Inspection & Analysis seeks a highly skilled Senior Metrologist to perform precision dimensional inspections of complex manufactured components using CMMs, vision CMMs, laser scanners, and other inspection tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metrology, programming, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform dimensional inspections of customer-supplied products using various equipment, including touch probe CMMs, optical CMMs, and laser scanners.
- Create and modify programs for CMMs and optical CMMs based on complex drawings and specifications.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement solutions to enhance inspection efficiency and accuracy.
- Train entry-level employees on metrology basics and provide guidance on CMM programming and inspection techniques.
- Perform intermediate checks of equipment to ensure calibration and accuracy.
- Collaborate with colleagues to verify inspection results and resolve any issues that may arise.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, including machining, injection molding, or mechanical assembly.
- 5+ years of experience with precision inspection using touch or vision CMMs.
- 5+ years of PC-DMIS programming experience, with expertise in looping, variables, scanning, data output, and point clouds.
- Experience with Hexagon PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, OGP Zone 3, Measuremind, SmartProfile, and Solidworks.
- Ability to read and understand complex GD&T on blueprints using ASME Y14.5 and ISO standards.
- ASME GDTP Senior Certification, AUKOM Certification, and ASQ CQI, CQT, CQE Certification are preferred.
