Job Summary:

As a valued member of the Cherokee Nation team, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining records, implementing guidelines, and ensuring the overall quality of the classroom under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, Site Supervisor, or Center Operations Specialist.

This position requires a primary caregiver for four infant/toddlers in group care, working as a team member with other Faculty and Volunteers. The successful candidate will develop lesson plans, ensure plans and guidelines are followed, and assist with the implementation of performance standards, program assessments, and local written plans.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work closely with other Faculty in all aspects of the program, and maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment. Additionally, they will be responsible for conducting home visits and parent-teacher conferences, managing individual assessments, and entering data into the Teaching Strategies Gold database.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain records and implement guidelines for the classroom
  • Assist in providing a stimulating and comprehensive learning environment for infants and toddlers
  • Conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences
  • Manage individual assessments and enter data into the Teaching Strategies Gold database
  • Maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment
  • Work closely with other Faculty in all aspects of the program

Qualifications:

  • High school education or general education degree (GED)
  • At least six months of experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
  • Valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report
  • Must not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General or the General Services Administration

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Work Environment:

  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions
  • Loud noise level in the work environment
