Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Vertical Launch System Technician III to join our team at Chenega MIOS SBU. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in refurbishing canisters for the US Navy fleet.

Responsibilities
  • Support quality, productivity, and process improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to a high standard of housekeeping and complete painting tasks with conventional spray guns
  • Read and apply appropriate paint formulas, prepping, priming, and masking for refinishing
  • Operate forklifts to move equipment and handle company tools properly
  • Apply imaging decals and complete all work order documentation
  • Execute repairs without direct supervision, following Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
  • Travel 20-30% to CONUS and OCONUS locations
Qualifications
  • Associate degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED equivalent and 12+ years of experience
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Requirements
  • Ability to provide and share knowledge and skills with junior employees
  • Cost-effective and concerned about material and part costs
  • High level of dependability, punctuality, and dedication
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of HAZMAT programs
  • Strong communication skills with the team and supervision
  • Efficient use of orbital sanders and overhead crane experience
