Job Title: Pharmacist in ChargeJob Summary

Bristol Pharmacy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee the daily operations of our pharmacy department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy
  • Oversee the accurate dispensing of medications and adherence to proper procedures while managing compounding and labeling processes
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care and medication therapy management
  • Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients
  • Conduct medication utilization reviews to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Monitor patient outcomes and make recommendations for therapy adjustments as needed
  • Participate in medical activities
  • Maintain aseptic technique in sterile compounding areas
  • Provide clinical support in acute care settings such as the emergency room (ER) and intensive care unit (ICU)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and patient service
  • Monitor medication inventory levels and order medications as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Requirements
  • At least 2 years retail pharmacy experience
  • Active pharmacy license in state of CT
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List
  • Immunization certification through an accredited organization (e.g, APhA)
  • No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances
  • Bachelor of science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Experience working in a specialty pharmacy
  • Experience with compounding medication
  • Familiar with PrimeRX/Micro Merchant pharmacy software
  • Familiar with BestRX pharmacy software
