Job Overview: At Bristol Pharmacy we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to join our team. As the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy department and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. Your expertise and leadership will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy

Ensure accurate dispensing of medications and adherence to proper procedures while overseeing compounding and labeling processes

Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations

Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care and medication therapy management

Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients

Conduct medication utilization reviews to identify opportunities for improvement

Monitor patient outcomes and make recommendations for therapy adjustments as needed

Participate in medical activities

Maintain aseptic technique in sterile compounding areas

Provide clinical support in acute care settings such as the emergency room (ER) and intensive care unit (ICU)

Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and patient service

Monitor medication inventory levels and order medications as needed

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:

At least 2 years retail pharmacy experience

Active pharmacy license in state of CT

Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List

Immunization certification through an accredited organization (e.g, APhA)

No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances

Bachelor of science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree

Preferred qualifications:

Fluent in Spanish

Experience working in a specialty pharmacy

Experience with compounding medication

Familiar with PrimeRX/Micro Merchant pharmacy software

Familiar with BestRX pharmacy software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55.00 - $75.00 per hour
