The University of Alabama seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs and activities for preschool children, working with undergraduate students participating in HD courses, and collaborating with graduate students and faculty on research projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging and educational programs for preschool children
- Work with undergraduate students participating in HD courses to provide hands-on learning experiences
- Collaborate with graduate students and faculty on research projects to advance knowledge in early childhood education
- Supervise interns and practicum students to ensure their successful completion of their academic programs
- Build strong relationships with parents of young children to promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family and Child Studies, Special Education, Human Development, or Psychology
- At least six months of experience working directly with children
- Understanding of emergent curriculum, the Reggio Approach, and experience with My Teaching Strategies (TS GOLD) assessment tool
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of edTPA portfolio process
- Administrative experience
