Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Attorney to join our team at The Florida Bar in Tampa, Florida.

The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate degree and be a Florida Bar Member in Good Standing. A minimum of three years of legal experience as an attorney, with expertise in case management, trials, pre-trial matters, and development of trial strategy, is required.

The selected candidate will be responsible for prosecuting trials, completing legal functions in disciplinary cases, and conducting investigations of complaints alleging violation of Rules Regulating The Florida Bar.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to think logically and solve problems effectively. They will also be skilled in case management, preparation of pleadings and appellate briefs, conducting discovery, and developing trial strategy.

The position requires the ability to work independently, responsibly, and with initiative, as well as to function as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of The Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, Bar disciplinary procedures, and the judicial process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prosecutes trials and completes legal functions in disciplinary cases
  • Conducts investigations of complaints alleging violation of Rules Regulating The Florida Bar
  • Provides counsel and advice to grievance committees with respect to the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar
  • Develops and implements trial strategy
  • Manages a case load and prioritizes work effectively

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree and Florida Bar Member in Good Standing
  • Minimum of three years of legal experience as an attorney
  • Expertise in case management, trials, pre-trial matters, and development of trial strategy
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to think logically and solve problems effectively

Working Conditions:

The position is based in Tampa, Florida, and requires the ability to travel. The ideal candidate will be able to work well under pressure and tactfully manage difficult situations.
