A Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant - Patient Care Specialist
As a Medical Assistant - Patient Care Specialist, your day will start with a warm welcome to patients at the front desk. You will excel in phone triage, scheduling appointments, and making a positive first impression. You will be at the forefront of patient care, taking vitals, gathering patient histories, and performing venipuncture and injections. You will collaborate with our Nurse Practitioners to assist with procedures, ensuring top-notch patient care. Your role extends beyond our clinic walls as you facilitate referrals within and outside the organization. At the end of the day, you will ensure a seamless patient check-out process.
Qualifications for a Medical Assistant - Patient Care Specialist
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant or equivalent hospital program or a minimum of one year of direct patient care experience.
- Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room responsibilities.
- Local travel required.
- All applicants must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination upon hire.
