Job Title: Ophthalmic Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at 360care. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our physicians at assigned long-term care facilities, providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical services.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in a prompt and courteous manner, maintaining a high level of professionalism and respect for patients and colleagues.
  • Prepare patient charts and records, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and maintaining confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Support the maintenance of medical equipment, ensuring it is clean, functional, and in good working order.
  • Coordinate patient flow, ensuring efficient and timely care, and communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Manage medical supplies, ordering and expediting supplies as needed, and maintaining inventory levels.
  • Perform daily production reports, accurately posting charges and maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries, and documenting conversations in the EMR.
  • Travel up to 100% of the time to and from assigned medical facilities, maintaining a safe and efficient travel schedule.
  • Actively support and comply with all components of the compliance program, including training and reporting of suspected violations of law and Company policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information, adhering to HIPAA, OSHA, and PHI guidelines at all times.
Qualifications
  • High School education or GED.
  • Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Must have own reliable transportation, good driving record, and car insurance.
  • Must have completed and passed a two-step Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test.
  • Good computer skills and medical terminology experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to follow directions.
Physical Demands

Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination, standing, walking, pushing, and stooping on a periodic basis. Lifting requirements vary depending on specialty division hired for. Must be able to push patients in a wheelchair. Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
