Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Equipment Operator II to join our team in the Department of Transportation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating heavy equipment, ensuring the safety of workers and the public, and maintaining the condition of roads and highways.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including digger derricks, sweepers, and forklifts, to maintain roads and highways.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Assist in the installation and removal of signs, pavement markings, and other road-related equipment.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure the safe and efficient completion of projects.

Requirements:
- Possession of a valid Class A commercial driver's license with a Tank Vehicle endorsement.
- At least one year of experience in operating heavy equipment, preferably in a highway maintenance setting.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and protocols, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

Working Conditions:
- Work in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Exposure to loud noises, dust, and other hazardous materials.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
