Job Overview

Position Title: Deputy Project Manager

Role Summary:

We are in search of a proactive and skilled Deputy Project Manager to enhance our project management capabilities. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the project manager to facilitate the planning, execution, and successful delivery of various projects. Your exceptional organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and multitasking skills will be vital in driving project success and ensuring seamless communication among all project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Support the project manager in orchestrating project activities, including planning, scheduling, and resource management. Track project milestones and ensure timely completion of tasks within budget constraints.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Promote effective communication among project team members and stakeholders. Organize project meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting outcomes. Share project updates and status reports to keep all parties informed.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and collaborate with the project manager to devise mitigation strategies. Continuously monitor and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle, escalating issues as needed.
  • Documentation Management: Assist in the upkeep of project documentation, including plans, timelines, and deliverables. Generate regular progress reports and presentations for stakeholders, ensuring all documentation is accurate and readily accessible.
  • Quality Control: Oversee project deliverables to guarantee they meet established quality standards and align with project objectives. Conduct quality assessments and reviews to identify and rectify any discrepancies.
  • Team Collaboration: Cultivate a collaborative and positive work environment. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (such as communication, training, data, and IT specialists) to ensure effective teamwork and timely task completion. Provide support to team members through guidance and resources.
  • Change Management: Aid in managing changes to project scope and assess their implications on timelines, resources, and budget. Work with the project manager and stakeholders to identify and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of project management processes, methodologies, and tools. Identify opportunities for improvement and propose innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or a similar capacity.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project).
  • A detail-oriented approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a proactive mindset towards project challenges.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile) and best practices.
  • A collaborative team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CAPM, PMP).
  • Experience in community resilience or emergency management.
  • Experience with federal government programs.


Salary is based on $100,000 per year plus fringe benefits.

Work locations include government offices, Links Global offices, and remote work options. (A telework schedule will need to be authorized).
Travel: Less than 10% non-local travel is anticipated.
