We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fresh Operations Manager to join our team at Brookshire Grocery Company. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our fresh perimeter departments, including bakery, deli, produce, and market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Fresh Departments: Ensure the quality of product, food and physical safety, and inventory stock levels in our fresh perimeter departments.
- Merchandising and Inventory Management: Oversee the execution of merchandising plans, ensure adherence to Company standards and procedures, and manage achievement of store sales and profits using acceptable business practices.
- Customer Service: Promote customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers.
- Leadership and Development: Carry out management responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training and developing partners; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining partners; and scheduling, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Financial Management: Review historical data to predict future sales from ads and promotions, manage inventory using item management processes to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels, and review profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Associate's degree in a related field and two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education.
- Certifications: HIPAA certification, Manager Food Safety certification, AML certification, and TABC/LACT certification (where applicable).
- Skills and Abilities: Intermediate knowledge of retail grocery store operations, WFM (Workforce Management), and basic mathematical skills.
Work Environment:

As a Fresh Operations Manager, you will be required to stand or walk for long periods, use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, or the ability to focus, and frequently use hands for reaching, touching or handling.
