Job Summary

Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent of Special Schools and Services/SELPA Director and/or a Speech Language Specialist, the Speech and Language Assistant will assist in providing speech therapy and educational services to students with speech and language disorders.

The Speech and Language Assistant will work with students to develop their language skills, improve their oral-motor control for speech production, and monitor the use of communication devices and systems.

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possession of a valid California state license to serve as a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board

Any combination equivalent to:

Graduation from a college or university with an associate degree in speech-language pathology assistant
