About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at St. David's Medical Center. As a PACU Recovery Room Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth recovery for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for assigned patients
  • Provide a clean, efficient, and safe environment within the work area
  • Complete an age-appropriate assessment on each assigned patient and create a specific plan of care upon patient arrival
  • Monitor the patient throughout the recovery phase and administer IV therapy as needed
  • Recognize and report variations in patient condition to the appropriate individuals
  • Make rounds to check equipment cleanliness and appropriate storage
  • Monitor narcotic and medication control
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)/critical care
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred
  • Associates Degree of Nursing (ADN) - required
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) certification - preferred
  • Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) certification - preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification - preferred
