Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our Estates, Gifts and Trusts Group in Miami, FL. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for providing innovative tax accounting services to clients and their advisors, including planning, research, and compliance related to estates, estate tax planning, trusts, gifts, generation-skipping transfers, and tax-exempt organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with clients and their advisors to provide tax accounting services, including planning, research, and compliance.
  • Manage and produce analysis of trust agreements for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Drive the success of multiple estate and trust administrations from a tax and accounting standpoint.
  • Manage and drive the success of multiple engagements in EGT/TEO entities and related entities' taxation.
  • Represent clients with taxing authorities and possess strong writing skills for responding to tax notices.
  • Work closely with Partners, Senior Managers and staff on client management, professional development and business development activities.
  • Manage team's activities, charge-ability, and budgets.
  • Develop team's technical and industry skills and mentor career growth.
  • Be involved in practice development efforts of the firm.
  • Assist partners with preparation of engagement budgets, client billing and staff performance reviews.
  • Review staff work product and ensure firm processes and quality control procedures are being executed.
  • Identify and pursue outside business contacts through social, charitable, and business organizations.
  • Pursue professional development through public speaking opportunities, seminar delivery, and through the writing of articles.
  • Assist in preparing proposals and presentations.
Requirements
  • BBA/BS in Accounting.
  • Masters in Taxation degree or LLM in Taxation a plus.
  • CPA certification and active CPA license preferred
  • Five or more years of experience at a public accounting firm, with a substantial dedication of time to providing corporate and individual tax compliance and consulting services.
  • Strong technical skills pertaining to tax preparation and review, tax compliance, agency correspondence and tax research.
