Job Summary

The Bridge Carpenter will utilize their expertise in woodworking to design, build, and repair bridges and structures of all types and sizes for Jones Bros. Contractors, LLC.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Estimate equipment, tool, and material needs for each project.
  • Construct, dismantle, and repair structures, walls, roofs, glass, and siding as assigned.
  • Operate a variety of tools to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Set up and dismantle scaffolding as necessary.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in optimal condition for performance and safety.
  • Perform painting tasks as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
  • Thorough understanding of safe and correct tool operation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create accurate sketches to convey project specifications.
  • Ability to take precise measurements and calculations.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience.
  • At least one year of experience in a related field.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to squat, lift, stretch, and bend to access all areas.
  • Ability to work in and on overhead structures, as well as below machinery.
