At Chipotle Mexican Grill, we're not just serving food - we're cultivating a better world. As a Senior Manager, Indirect Tax, you'll play a critical role in shaping our tax strategy and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a seasoned tax professional to lead our U.S. and International indirect tax team. As a key member of our tax leadership team, you'll be responsible for managing all aspects of indirect tax compliance, planning, and strategy. Your expertise will help us navigate complex tax laws and regulations, ensuring we remain compliant and competitive in the market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee U.S. multi-state sales and use tax compliance process to ensure accurate tax collection and timely filing/payment deadlines
  • Manage International indirect compliance and review monthly/quarterly returns for Canada, UK, France, and Germany
  • Research and propose process efficiencies, support company initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute sales and use tax projects
  • Review sales and use tax account reconciliations, including sales tax reserves
  • Support Senior Director, Tax on various projects and strategic tax planning analysis
  • Partner with 3rd party delivery partners and update tax engines to ensure accurate tax collection
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters
  • Assist with SOX compliance and internal audit requests
  • Manage sales & use tax-related inquiries and audits from taxing jurisdictions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from a 4-year college or university required
  • Master's degree in Tax preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant experience required
  • 5-8 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Restaurant industry experience preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook, Oracle, Alteryx
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent research and project management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage priorities, projects, and people in a fast-paced environment
What We Offer

Plus, a reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $145,000.00–$214,000.00, with annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors.
