Position Overview

PeaceHealth is actively seeking a dedicated Hematology/Oncology physician to provide per diem services in a picturesque location.

This is a unique chance to integrate into a comprehensive oncology team within a vibrant community that appreciates its healthcare professionals. The preferred candidate will hold Board Certification.

Practice Highlights

  • The cancer center operates under a hub & spoke model, collaborating with a larger facility.
  • Comprehensive services available on-site, including Medical and Radiation Oncology, emergency contact availability, advanced radio therapy options, and patient support resources.
  • Responsibilities include maintaining Commission on Cancer Accreditation.
  • Strong presence of primary and specialty care in the surrounding area.
  • Utilization of Epic EMR for efficient patient management.

The compensation for this position is competitive and includes malpractice coverage with tail coverage. Additional benefits may include travel stipends and license reimbursement.

Job Responsibilities

Exhibit compassion and professionalism while delivering safe and effective patient care. Collaborate with healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes and provide professional services to the facility and its patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver medical services within the scope of practice and licensure.
  • Adhere to current standards of care and quality criteria established by the organization.
  • Evaluate and implement individualized patient care plans based on developmental needs.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school is required.
  • Completion of an Internship/Residency Program in the relevant specialty is necessary.

Experience

  • Proficiency in computer systems is required.

Credentials

  • Must be licensed to practice medicine and board certified or eligible.
  • Possession of a Drug Enforcement Administration Federal Number is required.
  • Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is mandatory.

Skills

  • Demonstrated clinical management expertise is essential.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and skill enhancement is required.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and respond to on-call duties is necessary.
  • Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare or Medicaid programs.

Working Conditions

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to handle patients weighing up to 35 lbs. without assistive devices.
  • Fine motor skills for medical equipment operation and precise procedures.
  • Capacity to perform CPR as needed.
  • Ability to navigate the work environment with frequent sitting and occasional lifting.

Environmental Considerations

  • Exposure to biohazards and medical environments is expected.

Mental and Visual Requirements

  • Normal vision and hearing capabilities are required.
  • Effective communication skills are essential for accurate information exchange.
