About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team at Carrier. As a Journeyman with our company, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions in commercial HVAC systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance on heating and cooling units to ensure optimal performance.
  • Install, replace, or repair equipment, including thermostatic controls, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts, and low- and high-pressure liquid lines.
  • Assemble and install metal ductwork to ensure efficient airflow.
  • Assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems.
  • Provide estimates of materials required for projects.
  • Repair and replace damaged parts and equipment to ensure system integrity.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams to understand system layouts and configurations.
  • Stay up-to-date with City, State, and EPA regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives to ensure satisfaction.
  • Safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Recognize and mitigate risks and safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations.
  • Identify situations requiring escalation or elevation to Supervisor or Manager for guidance or additional support.
  • Participate in all required safety training and maintain state or national required licensing.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical working experience in the HVAC Industry.
  • 5+ years of experience working with centrifugal chillers.
  • Ability to pass an examination regarding the abilities and know-how of Building Trades Journeyman, conducted by an Examining Board.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand, crawl, sit, squat for extended periods.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier.
  • Must be a current union member or willing to join a union.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of building automation controls.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience using Salesforce and ServiceMax is a plus.
