Job Summary

This position performs routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis as part of a department, responsible for providing linen services to the Medical Center and its related rental properties, all to comply with standards of linen services and sanitation for Accreditation and Licensure requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Task Execution: Performs assigned tasks in accordance with written procedures, guidelines, directions, checklists, and verbal requests and instructions.
  • Linen Services: Performs routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis to provide linen services to the Medical Center and its related rental properties. Clean walls, floors, ceilings, windows, furniture of all kinds in the clean linen room as well as clean linen carts.
  • Soiled Linen Collection: Pick up soiled linen using standard precautions.
  • Linen Distribution: Sort, stack, and deliver clean linen to nursing units using standard par levels.
  • Inventory Management: Informs supervisor of new linen needs.
  • Additional Duties: Performs other related miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licensures: N/A
  • Education: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA
  • Equivalent Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations. Perform tasks in accordance with written and oral instructions.
Working Conditions
  • Physical and Mental Demands: Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
  • Mobility and Vision: Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
  • Other Requirements: Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
