The Alexandria City Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Bilingual Education Teacher to join our team. As an ELL Teacher, you will be responsible for developing bilingual students' ability to effectively perform courses of study in the English language.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Implementation: Implement district-approved curriculum to ensure students receive a comprehensive education.
  • Student Progress Monitoring: Document teaching and student progress, activities, and outcomes to inform instruction.
  • Parent Communication: Provide methods to support and/or reinforce classroom goals in the home environment.
  • Classroom Environment: Develop a safe and optimal learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
  • Lesson Planning: Develop and implement effective lesson plans and instructional techniques to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Student Assessment: Evaluate students' level of English fluency and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
  • Certifications: Valid Virginia Department of Education license with an endorsement in ELL/ESL, or eligibility to obtain one.
Clearances
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test.
Public Health Compliance
  • Must follow safety and health protocols.
