Job Overview

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is in search of a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Specialist for a long-term, day shift position within a plastics manufacturing environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe upkeep, repair, and enhancement of the facility, thereby maximizing production efficiency and quality while aligning with the company's policies and objectives.

Compensation: $25-$30/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the designated Forklift Trainer, responsible for instructing and evaluating selected personnel in safe forklift operations.
  • Conduct general maintenance and repairs on buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds, which includes tasks in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, glazing, masonry, and painting.
  • Repair and maintain structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets; perform minor troubleshooting and repairs on locks and door mechanisms.
  • Change filters on HVAC units and air compressors to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Service kitchen appliances and emergency equipment; connect appliances and report any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in moving furniture and equipment across various facilities; set up and dismantle cubicle partitions as required.
  • Exercise judgment in identifying projects that necessitate the expertise of a higher-skilled tradesperson.
  • Help in obtaining quotes and coordinating services from external vendors when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate work logs tailored to specific site requirements.
  • Manage building alarm systems, including activation, deactivation, and response to alarm notifications during and after standard working hours.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Willingness to learn and adhere to manufacturing safety protocols.
  • Ability to maintain clean, safe, and organized work environments.
  • Effective communication skills regarding work-related issues.
  • Capability to pass the internal Forklift testing and certification program while remaining compliant.
  • Commitment to keeping the shop and office areas tidy, including lunchrooms and restrooms.
  • Full-time attendance is essential.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
