Job Summary

Cushman Wakefield Multifamily is seeking a highly skilled Chief Engineer to lead our engineering team in the effective daily management of our multifamily properties. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality work and customer service in the administration of our engineering department.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Supervision

Supervise and manage a team of engineers and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and personnel development.

Performance Management

Ensure performance management, coaching, and development of team members through established HR processes and disciplinary actions.

Safety and Compliance

Participate and coordinate annual scheduling and execution of the C&W Safety Program, ensuring 100% compliance at our sites.

Operational Management

Manage operational accounts for our properties, including variance reporting, and assist in the development of operating and capital budgets.

Utility Management

Track and manage utility use, consumption, cost, and reporting, as well as assist in the development of utility budgets and variance analysis.

Building Systems and Equipment

Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment, identify and resolve issues, and recommend improvements for preventive maintenance programs.

Training and Development

Develop and implement training programs for building-specific maintenance and safety procedures, as well as coordinate development of an Operations Document Library.

Communication and Collaboration

Maintain ongoing communication with tenants, clients, property management, and vendors, and coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and tenant finish personnel.

Requirements
  1. Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, and 7+ years of related work experience in a commercial property setting or any similar combination of education or experience.

Technical Skills

Vocational/Technical training certificate, appropriate license/permit for trade, Universal Technician for CFCs, and basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Leadership and Interpersonal Skills

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and stakeholders.

Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment, and the employee is regularly required to communicate with others, operate a computer, and move about the workplace.
