Job Summary

An Occupational Therapist is a rehabilitation professional responsible for conducting functional evaluations, developing and implementing treatment programs, and providing consultation to clients, families, and caregivers to restore, develop, or maintain adaptive skills and performance abilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in occupational therapy, a strong understanding of adaptive skills and functional independence, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and assess patients to develop a plan of care
  • Establish and implement treatment plans to achieve measurable, functional patient-focused goals
  • Administer treatment in a professional and organized manner, adhering to department and hospital policies, best practice standards, and physician protocols
  • Provide written and verbal communication to referral sources, insurance companies, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in team and interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate
Requirements
  • Have satisfactorily completed an approved occupational therapy curriculum in a baccalaureate or master's program
  • Be licensed and registered to practice in New York State or eligible for a limited permit
  • Hold CPR certification
