Amtrak is seeking a highly skilled General Foreman II to oversee the maintenance and repair of railway equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the operation of an area, performing inspections, running repairs, maintenance, modifications, and/or light overhauls for cars and/or locomotives in operating divisions.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise equipment inspection, maintenance, and repair programs
- Provide diagnostic and troubleshooting expertise to increase equipment availability and reliability
- Lead and implement inspection and mechanical service-related safety plans and programs
- Ensure foremen and mechanical craft employees are properly trained in inspection, test, and maintenance procedures
- Monitor availability and reliability metrics and promptly evaluate problem areas
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Demonstrated experience working on machinery in an industrial, marine, railroad, or plant environment
- Demonstrated leadership/management experience
- Ability to recognize and develop prospective leaders to build a solid team with succession planning for key talent
- Competitive salary: $98,000.00
