The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the operation of an area, performing inspections, running repairs, maintenance, modifications, and/or light overhauls for cars and/or locomotives in operating divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise equipment inspection, maintenance, and repair programs
  • Provide diagnostic and troubleshooting expertise to increase equipment availability and reliability
  • Lead and implement inspection and mechanical service-related safety plans and programs
  • Ensure foremen and mechanical craft employees are properly trained in inspection, test, and maintenance procedures
  • Monitor availability and reliability metrics and promptly evaluate problem areas
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated experience working on machinery in an industrial, marine, railroad, or plant environment
  • Demonstrated leadership/management experience
  • Ability to recognize and develop prospective leaders to build a solid team with succession planning for key talent
