Job Description

Overview:

Astrion is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Architect to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the technical direction of our programs and guiding our Integrated Product Teams on successful implementation of technical strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical direction of our programs, ensuring alignment with our organization's vision and mission.
  • Break down complex requirements into manageable plans and execute them with precision.
  • Architect and develop solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
  • Work with our team to develop automated testing, testing plans, and encourage a test-driven development culture.
  • Assist the Government team in ensuring our work aligns with their requirements and our technical direction.
  • Oversee flight scheduling algorithm optimization and perform Operational Reach best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a professional engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited educational program and 7 years of work experience, with 4 years within the DoD.
  • Experience in requirements development, production and deployment, and operation and support, architectures development & implementation, modeling & simulation, verification & validation, technical data package development and sustainment, and principles of configuration management.
  • Experience with network architectures, embedded systems and application deployment across a variety of systems and hardware, to include cloud deployment and virtualization.
  • Proficient with frontend and backend development (full stack) and experience with industry best practices (i.e., Test-Driven Development (TDD), Extreme Programming (XP), 12 factor principles, Infrastructure as Code (IAC)).
  • Experience with continuous delivery and integration in a DevSecOps organization targeting deployments in the cloud.
  • Experience deploying applications in a containerized environment.
  • Experience working with data/integration partners.
  • Organized and able to keep others organized towards the same goal, without imposing.
  • Effective communicator and able to speak up when necessary, with respect, inclusion, and collaboration in mind.
  • Able to develop empathy with users and go outside of the comfort zone to provide the best solutions and support for the warfighter.
