Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pickleball Instructor to join our team at Dundee Township Parks District. As a Pickleball Instructor, you will be responsible for leading and teaching pickleball recreation programs for children and adults, creating a safe and fun learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Organize and prepare lesson plans in a fun and creative manner, incorporating engaging activities and exercises to promote participant learning and enjoyment.
  • Instruction and Supervision: Lead and teach participants in pickleball recreation programs, providing clear instructions, demonstrations, and feedback to ensure a positive and productive learning experience.
  • Reporting and Administration: Prepare and submit program-related reports, including attendance records, to ensure accurate tracking and evaluation of program effectiveness.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with coworkers, parents, and participants, providing excellent customer service and promoting a positive and inclusive program environment.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Maintain a working knowledge of all general agency and department-specific safety rules, reporting any work-related injuries or incidents to supervisors promptly, and taking corrective action to prevent future occurrences.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older, with a minimum of one year of previous teaching or coaching experience, and knowledge of pickleball and its equipment.
  • Skills and Abilities: Possess strong people and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: This is a part-time seasonal position, with work hours dependent on events or activities, including evenings and weekends.
  • Physical Demands: Good physical condition, sufficient strength, and mobility required, with the ability to lift and move objects weighing 50 pounds or more, and work in a fast-paced environment.
