Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Machinist to join our team at Sterling Engineering. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. If you have a strong background in machining techniques and thrive in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC machines to produce custom parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Collaborate with engineers and other technicians in the development of prototype models.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters to achieve desired outcomes.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in machining or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in precision machining, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in operating CNC machines and familiarity with G-code programming.
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and quality control principles.
Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality inspection techniques.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
